I had an amazing experience at Balance Holistic Health Spa today - on the morning of a ski trip to Tahoe, I woke up with back pain, couldn't bend at the waist, had difficulty getting dressed and was in a fair amount of pain...I couldn't get in to see my regular massage therapist or chiropractor before I left. On a whim, I looked for a massage therapist and chiro at Northstar - Valerie called me back within hours, and had a 1 hour appointment for massage followed by chiro the next morning - less than 24 hours away.
While this alone was impressive, the appointments were amazing - Valerie is a gifted therapist and had me well out of pain in just an hour with a combination of stretching and massage. Dr. Brown is also very gifted and did several corrections that took the treatment to the next level - I walked out of the office out of pain, with so much more range of movement and flexibility - I hit the slopes that afternoon.

Last week, I had this horrible pain in my left eye, headache and felt nauseated, so took some advil and laid down in a dark room. I felt tight in my shoulders and neck and just felt pained everywhere. I had a stressful week and thought maybe a massage might help.
I've only had a few massages, but this was very, very different. It was emotional and she helped me to focus on "releasing", while explaining that our muscles carry "muscle memory". She felt supportive emotionally, spiritually, physically. It was such a release. My testimonial can't do her justice. I felt like I unloaded 50 lbs of crap and a lifetime of junk the other day and feel so much better.
Physically, here's before and after pictures of my shoulders. There was such a difference, I asked her to take a picture - I couldn't believe it.
